Will Jason Witten play on Wednesday night?

Witten listed as doubtful

Jason Witten has been one of the most consistent tight ends over the last nine seasons, catching nearly 700 passes for nearly 8,000 yards.

But on Wednesday night, the Cowboys are likely not to have Witten, due to a lacerated spleen injury. The Cowboy will also be without without Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jay Ratliff, who has missed all week of practice with a high ankle sprain. Ratliff has been listed as “out” on the injury report. Josh Brent will likely start in his place.

Jason Witten visited the doctor early Tuesday morning for a scheduled appointment. It's expected Witten will make the trip Tuesday afternoon and will be a game-time decision. John Phillips and rookie James Hanna should get more playing time if Witten doesn't play.

Cornerback Mike Jenkins is questionable after missing all of the offseason with a shoulder injury that required rotator cuff surgery. Jenkins returned to practice on Sunday.

Safety Danny McCray is doubtful to play with a stinger injury.
