Here we are in Week 8 and six teams are off again in the fourth ye weekend. There are six teams coming off byes and remember that not all teams that come off byes are ready to play. Let's take a look at the top three matchups and most interesting games going into Sunday.
1)New England (5-1) at Pittsburgh (5-2), 4:15pmET on CBS
. You can't get bigger than the Patriots at the Steelers. These are the two best franchises in the NFL. Last year, New England won the game in Pittsburgh, 39-26 as Tom Brady threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns. The Patriots have now scored 30 or more points in 13 of their last 14 games. The Steelers' defense is not as dominant as they once were but their offense is better. They should be able to throw against a Pats'defense that allows 322.2ypg. They'll need to pressure Ben Roethlisberger. Should be a great game.
2)Dallas (3-3) at Philadelphia (2-4), 8:30pmET, NBC
. Philly is coming off a bye, Dallas team will show up? Both teams are coming off a bye so they should be close to 100%. RB DeMarcus Murray is the latest star on the Dallas offense after rushing for 253 yards against St. Louis. The Eagles' run defense could be in for a long day though they did play well against Washington before the bye. RB LeSean McCoy is also capable of putting up huge numbers against Dallas. Key will be both QBs. Michael Vick and Tony Romo need to limit the turnovers.
3)Detroit (5-2) at Denver (2-4, 4:05pmET, Fox..
Yes, another game involving Tim Tebow. This game though does have intrigue, especially with Detroit coming off two straight losses. Denver will be without RB Willis McGahee (broken hand), which puts even more pressure on Tebow. This will be a tough game for Tebow against an excellent Detroit pass rush. Matt Stafford (ankle) is gimpy and the Lions will have to protect him against a great rookie OLB in Von Miller, who already has six sacks. The Lions really don't have a running game with Jahvid Best out with a concussion.
