Stanford has made five trips to the Final Four and have yet to cut down the nets.
They had a tough task on Sunday night facing Baylor, the premier women's basketball team in the nation. Despite a strong effort, the Lady Bears and 6-foot-8 junior Brittney Griner were too much for the Cardinal, in a 59-47 win on Sunday night in Denver.
The Lady Bears improved to 39-0 defeating a Stanford team that rolled of a school-record 32 straight wins before this game. Their only loss came at Connecticut in early November.
Baylor (39-0) will face Notre Dame for the championship game on Tuesday night.
Griner was held to just 13 points and nine rebounds for Baylor while Nnemkadi Ogwumike scored 22 points to lead Stanford.
The Cardinal shot just 2 of 17 from the three-point line for the night.
