Arkansas to hire John L. Smith as interim coach

Arkansas will introduce John L. Smith as head coach Tuesday. Smith, who is leaving Weber State, will coach on a one-year deal and replace Bobby Petrino.

Smith has coached with Petrino at Arkansas, Michigan State, Louisville and Utah State

Odds to Win 2012 BCS Championship

Bobby Petrino fired at Arkansas
Bobby Petrino may want to stay off motorcycles for life. And now he has time to make that decision and try and repair his family.

On Tuesday, the Arkansas head coach was fired after laying about a relationship with a school employee who was at a motorcycle accident that ultimately cost him his job.

Petrino placed on administrative leave
Bobby Petrino was lucky he didn't lose his life after he was involved in a motorcycle accident after he skidded off the road last weekend.

That was the good news for the Arkansas coach. The bad news came for Arkansas when they found that he was riding with a female passenger half his age. And he was married with four kids.

Odds to Win 2012 Heisman Trophy
 The college football season is over but the players are starting to get ready for Spring Practice. Last year's winner of the Heisman Trophy was Robert Griffin III, who will likely become the second pick of the NFL Draft. Oregon is now being investigated by the NCAA for allegedly violation the regulations in the way it used recruiting services over the past four years.

NCAA moves kickoffs back to 35-yard line
NFL fans complained about too many kickoffs going into the end zone and past it last year. Now college football will change the rules to force kickers to kickoff from the 35-yard line instead of the 30.

Maryland allows QB Danny O'Brien full release
In the wake of heavy scrutiny from local and national media, Maryland head football coach Randy Edsall has relented and decided to grant former quarterback Danny O'Brien a full release from the program with no transfer restrictions, according to a news statement the school issued Wednesday.

Four TCU football players arrested
There's trouble for a college football program that dominated the mid-majors and is trying to become a major program.

On Wednesday, it was announced that seventeen TCU students, including four football players, have been arrested on drug charges, the school announced during a news conference.
